Christmas Shopping is on everyone's mind. Everyone that celebrates Christmas, that is. Those that don't probably get a big kick out of watching all of us that do run around like chickens with our heads cut off.
Christmas Shopping was today's Fun Monday topic.
I start my shopping early. Very early. I usually try to have my shopping done before Thanksgiving.
Our family decided a couple of years ago to draw names. Yesterday we drew names, so I do have a couple of more gifts to buy. Those will be super easy though. I was hoping to get the names that we got.
Black Friday is not for me. I did it once, and that was enough for me. I got really tired of getting hit with shopping carts, strollers (without babies in them), and all the craziness that goes with Black Friday. I am sure I miss out on a lot of sales, but we don't buy great big stuff for Christmas gifts.
Cyber Monday is more my style, but normally I already have my gifts bought so I don't participate much here either. Now, I have been known to shop the Eddie Bauer sales for new clothes for myself. I got a great coat last year for next to nothing.
Part of the topic was going to be to tell about who is the hardest person to shop for, and that is usually my Grandad. Grandad always says he wants Black Cotton Socks. Every. Stinkin'. Year. One day I went in his closet and there were a ton of brand new black cotton socks. That man hoards black cotton socks. So, I started buying him other things. Blankets, movies, etc. All of that changed this year though. This year my Granny wants everyone to put whatever money we would have spent in a pot, and give it to Aunt Betty.
Aunt Betty?
That was our question. Who the heck is Aunt Betty? My sister and I have met this Aunt Betty only once, so it was a legit question. We thought it was funny at the time, but after typing all of this out I am realizing that you probably had to be there. But I am cracking myself up right now, I'm just sayin'.

I sure hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!
