The Return of the Wii Faces

We love playing the Wii when our family is here.  I love taking photos of them playing.

In January of 2010 I posted the Many Faces of Wii.  This post isn't as long as that one, but it is cute!  I liked seeing how much my nephew Garrett has grown. 

Now we have my nephew Lawrence playing.

His dad had to help him out just a little bit.

He was racing his big brother, Garrett. 

Lawrence came in 12th, but in his mind he won! His big brother was kind enough to let him think that. 

I have discovered Just Dance 3, and am using it as a workout. :) I love it! I need to find 1 & 2 now.

Happy Thanksgiving - 2011

Last week as the flock of turkeys made their way in front of our house I thought that I needed to get a photo of it for my Thanksgiving post.  They were even mulling aroud yesterday morning, and what did I do?  I played with my nephew, Lawrence.

So, I guess I am the turkey this year.  LOL

I didn't see if they were mulling around this morning, because I was too busy making dressing or stuffing, whatever you call it.

This year we are doing things a little different.  The heating element in my mom's oven is out, but she has the most room at her house for all the family.  So, my sister and I are making the meal and mom is making desserts that don't have to be baked. 

I made the corn dip I make every year, deviled eggs, and two types of dressing.  My dad is gluten-free, and I was determined to make him his own special dressing.  Then, I also made some regular dressing.  This is the first time I've ever made dressing.  Hopefully, it will turn out okay.

My sister is making the turkey, mashed potatoes, spicy pretzels, and green bean stuff.  It isn't really a green bean casserole, so we call it "stuff".  This is the first time she's ever made the turkey, so we almost had a catastrophe on our hands.  She didn't realize it took so long to thaw a turkey, so as of yesterday morning she hadn't bought one.  We fixed that.  We went to our local meat market and bought a fresh one.  :)

I think we are all set.  Now, I just have to figure out how to keep all of this warm for the three hour drive.

Caught In the Act - Abby

About a month ago this is what I saw as I looked out my bedroom window.  As I ran down the hall to grab my camera I hoped they would still be there.  My luck with our dogs is that they stop doing what I want to get a photo of by the time I get my camera.  This time they had no idea I wanted the shot. 

Is it bad that I would rather run and get my camera instead of stopping the digging?  Don't answer that McD!

Look at that dirt fly? Right before I snapped this one, Mia was getting dirt thrown in her face.

McD wasn't too happy when he got home.

But, as you can tell from this photo, she was ready for a nap and was sleeping when he got home.  It takes a lot out of a girl digging that deep of a hole! 

Lady T & I Getting Our Fonz On

I've posted different things about my trip to Washington D.C. in the past, and in next year we will be going back there.  I just don't think we will have nearly as much fun as we did with Lady T. 

These were Happy Days!! (Pun intended!)

I did a better Fonz impression when I was young! I searched for that photo, but it must be in a different box up in the attic.  Darn your luck! :)

I saved the best photo for last because Lady T looks much better than I do, she has her thumbs cocked to the side and everything. 

I am hoping we get to tour the White House this next time, and place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  I think we have someone in our group working on that, I hope so anyway.

I've been going through photos from this trip, and keep thinking about Lady T moving to Hawaii this coming Friday.  It used to make me kind of sad because I wasn't sure I would see her for the next thirteen months or so.  BUT!  Yesterday I learned that I will be going to Hawaii this spring, and I will be able to hug her neck much sooner than I thought!  God is Good!  My prayers were answered!! 

 

Funny OobieBay Story

A while back I shared with you what I use as my left oobiebay.  It just happened to come with my post-surgery camisole and I just keep using it. 

That is about all of the background info you need for this little story.  Feel free to laugh, I guarantee that you are laughing with me and not at me on this one.

It wasn't just a regular Sunday morning, it was the Sunday that I knew I wouldn't have to miss church anymore because of the side effects of chemo.  It was the Sunday that I had been looking forward to since June 26th.  That was the first Sunday I missed church because of the side effects. 

As soon as I walked in the door of the church building I was welcomed with hugs and handshakes.  I made my way into the auditorium, and there again I received many hugs and handshakes.  After our communion, we send all of the little ones to children's church, and have a brief minute or two of fellowship which was full of hugs.  It made me feel great!

After the services, as we were headed to the door (more hugs & handshakes), a nice lady stopped me to tell me about a ribbon cutting she had been to at a cancer resource center here.  She proceeded to tell me that they have wigs, bras, head scarves, bras, stocking caps, bras, mastectomy bras, and all kinds of stuff.  I thought it was odd that she mentioned bras at least four times, but thought maybe she was just trying to remember everything.  I didn't give it a second thought.

McD and I finally made it out the door, and were headed to the pick-up when it hit me.

You see, that morning I put on a camisole instead of the sports bra I usually wear.  I remembered thinking, "I sure hope that oobiebay poof stays in place."  It turns out that I didn't need to worry about the poof moving, it was my real oobiebay that started drooping.  I am sure it was from raising my arms for all those hugs.  So the poof stayed put and looked nice and perky, but the real one went south - I was so lop-sided you couldn't miss it!

That is why she kept mentioning the bras, I just know it!

I think I will always wear the bra from here on out!!

A List & A Real Life Puss in Boots

Puss in Boots, minus the boots, lives here with me.  Just so you know.

Tonight I am going to see Buddy aka The Cake Boss, and I am almost giddy about it.  Silly, huh?  I may need to take binoculars so I can actually see him from our seats! 

I really should be cleaning house instead of sitting here playing on the computer.

My hair has started growing back.

I'm getting ready to lose at least one fingernail.  It is really gross!

I have the most amazing husband in the world.  Don't even try to compare yours, I'm just sayin'!

I have a really good friend that stood in line for hours to get me an autographed copy of The Cake Boss's new book!  I love you, Anya!

We got 2.5 inches of rain yesterday!!  Thank you Lord!

We've experienced earthquakes! Crazy!!

Our OSU Cowboys are ranked #2!  Go Pokes!!

I'm reading a really interesting book, can't wait to share it with you!

I'm a procrastinator!

I ate a brownie for supper last night!

I am looking forward to spending the weekend with some dear friends that I don't see nearly enough.

I miss my seester! A lot!

And I have to get my hiney into gear so I can make some things happen today!  Good things!  I hope to tell you more about them later!

The Next President

 

Lady T

A couple of years ago we went to Washington D.C., you might remember some of the posts.  It just so happened that she had lived there for a short time, so she was able to come with us and be our tour guide.  She was the best durn tour guide I've ever had, cutest too!

I can't think of one of our presidents that have been this good looking. 

She was doing such a good job of reading the speech from the prompter, and acting the part.

And then...

Then she started trying to mess with the man's glasses or nose.  I can't remember which it was.  All I could do was laugh.

Lady T is a very important person in my life.  She just took a job that will send her far, far away from me, and I hate it and love it all at the same time.  I don't want to get all mushy on here, but this chick is purty durn special to me.
